David Omilgoitok is a management executive and a former senior public servant, based in Cambridge Bay Nunavut. He served as Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Deputy Minister of Executive and Intergovernmental Affairs, and he was Secretary to Cabinet in the Government of Nunavut.

Rick Doman is a seasoned executive with over 45 years of experience, including with Doman Industries (currently named Western Forest Products Inc.). Mr. Doman founded EACOM Timber Corporation where he served as the CEO and chairman. He is a past CEO and director of GreenFirst Forest Products Inc., and is the co-founder and chairman of Boreal Carbon Corporation.

Leona Aglukkaq

The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq is an experienced politician and government administrator from the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut. First elected as a Member of Parliament in 2008, in 2009 she became the first Inuk in Canadian history to be appointed to Cabinet as Minister of Health. Ms. Aglukkaq is also a respected business leader, serving as a Director of Agnico Eagle Mines Limited.

Brendon Abrams is the CEO of Boreal Carbon Corporation, and brings over 10 years of capital markets experience, most recently serving as a Director and Equity Research Analyst (real estate) at Canaccord Genuity. Mr. Abrams holds Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accounting designations.

The Honourable Dennis Glen Patterson is a Canadian politician and lawyer who was a senator from Nunavut from 2009 until his retirement in 2023. He was also the fifth Premier of the Northwest Territories, serving from 1987 to 1991.

Brendan Bell is an experienced Northern mining leader. He is a former CEO of Dominion Diamond Corporation. Mr. Bell served as Minister of Industry Tourism & Investment and Minister of Justice in the Government of the Northwest Territories. He is also a Director of the Robert Gannicott Foundation.

Greg is a CPA with over 20 years of financial and accounting experience mainly in the mining industry, including 8 years in the finance function at Sherritt International Corp. He is also the CFO of Cosigo Resources Ltd., a Colombia-focused, publicly traded gold explorer.

Elliot Holland is a project developer with a focus on Northern and indigenous-led work. Mr. Holland has extensive mining experience as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, as VP Projects at Dominion Diamond Corporation, and as a consultant to indigenous and public governments at IMC.

Gavin Law

Gavin Law

Environment Manager

Gavin Law is an environmental and regulatory professional with over 25 years of experience in Nunavut and western Canada. He has held senior environmental and project management roles at Ovintiv, Clear Environmental Solutions, and AGAT Laboratories. He first worked in the North as a Meteorological Technician with Environment and Climate Change Canada at Alert, Nunavut.

Steve Ash

Steve Ash, P.Eng

Engineering Manager

Steve Ash has designed and implemented structural and mechanical engineering projects in Nunavut, NWT, and Alaska. He has experience as an engineering manager and operations manager, building industrial fuel systems and other mine support infrastructure.

Luyeye Muyembe, CPA, CGA

Finance & Administration Manager

Luyeye Muyembe is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Certified General Accountant with over 15 years of accounting experience, working in the public practice, government and not-for-profit sectors. Most recently, she served as a Financial Consultant for various indigenous organizations across the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

Matthew Pickard

Matthew Pickard, P.Geo

Senior Advisor - Environment & Indigenous Affairs

Matthew Pickard is a geoscientist with over 20 years of experience in environment, permitting, community relations & government affairs within the mining industry. Matthew holds an Honours Bachelor of Science and Masters of Business Administration and has significant experience throughout Canada with a particular focus on development in Nunavut. Matthew has held various senior roles with Baffinland, De Beers, and most recently as Vice President of People & Sustainability with Sabina Gold & Silver Corp. and Vice President of Sustainability with B2Gold Nunavut.  He is a member of the Nunavut Mining Hall of Fame (2023) and led Sabina to win the PDAC Sustainability Award in 2022.

Kassidy Koaha-Laube has a diverse career spanning multiple sectors. She began in the mining and construction industry as a community relations student in Nunavut. She then transitioned into the accounting and finance industry, where she gained over five years of experience working across Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and Alberta.

Sharleen Hamm, RPBio

Senior Advisor - Regulatory

Sharleen Hamm specializes in regulatory, environmental and relationship aspects of Arctic transportation, mineral and energy projects, having started her Arctic career in the Kitikmeot Region on a prior iteration of the road and port concept over 20 years ago. With extensive experience in Nunavut and Northwest Territories, Sharleen brings her diverse background in freshwater ecology, environmental engineering, public participation and administrative justice, along with her extensive experience on mineral and infrastructure projects located throughout the Grays Bay road corridor, to support the project and WKR team.

Jim Stevens

Senior Advisor - Nunavut

Jim Stevens is a former Assistant Deputy Minister Transportation for the Government of Nunavut. Over his career he has participated in most major transportation infrastructure projects in both Nunavut and the Northwest Territories including the Inuvik-Tuktoyaktuk Highway, Iqaluit Deep Water Port, Mackenzie Valley Highway, Iqaluit International Airport Improvement Project among others. As a past winner of the Premier of the NWT Award for Excellence (Aboriginal Engagement) and the Institute of Public Administration (Silver Award- Aboriginal Engagement), Jim makes it a priority to ensure all Indigenous Peoples and other stakeholders are properly engaged and fully understand project components and impacts.
