On September 11 and 12, WKR hosted a meeting of our Inuit Advisory Group in Kugluktuk, focused on the impact of the Grays Bay project on caribou and how to study, monitor, and mitigate those impacts. We were thrilled to have Alan Niptanatiak, chair of the Kugluktuk Angoniatit Association, as well as Kitikmeot Inuit Association staff join us for the meetings.

Afterwards, WKR hosted a community feast with caribou and muskox stew, mipku, bannock, and a truly enormous sheet cake that barely fit through chef Delma Niptanatiak's kitchen door!

Thanks to Delma as well as Mona Tiktalek, Ida Halla, and Ellen Halla for leading the cooking, Kassidy Koaha-Laube for putting the whole week together, Michael Setterington and Jason Prno for their expert support, and the staff at Kugluktuk Recreation for set up and clean up of the arena.
