Inuit leaders meet PM in Inuvik

As Inuit leaders come together today in Inuvik to discuss nation-building projects with Prime Minister Mark Carney, in a meeting co-chaired by Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami President Natan Obed, there is evident unity and cooperation building from across Inuit Nunangat.


David Thurton at CBC spoke to Inuvialuit Regional Corporation President Duane (ningaqsiq) Smith (anisaluk)Kitikmeot Inuit Association Executive Director Fred Pedersen, and Nunavut Premier PJ Akeeagok in advance of the meeting.


Nukik Corporation's Kivalliq Hydro-Fibre Line and WKR's Grays Bay Road and Port Project are among the Inuit-led, Inuit-owned nation-building projects that will be discussed.
