Iqaluit Hydro second Nunavut project referred to Major Projects Office

Congratulations to Nunavut Nukkiksautiit Corporation, a subsidiary of Qikiqtaaluk Corporation, on the inclusion of the Iqaluit Nukkiksautiit Hydro Project in the second tranche of projects referred to the Major Projects Office.

This is the second project in Nunavut included on the nation-building projects list, joining the Arctic Economic and Security Corridor from the NWT to Grays Bay.

Today's announcement represents another step towards the realization of Nunavut Tunngavik and the Government of Nunavut's Arctic Sovereignty and Security Strategy, with two of the four NTI/GN Arctic infrastructure priorities now officially recognized by the Government of Canada. It reflects the tireless advocacy of NTI President Jeremy Tunraluk, Nunavut Premier PJ Akeeagok, Qikiqtaaluk Corporation President Harry Flaherty, and Nunavut Nukkiksautiit Corporation Executive Director Heather Shilton.
