NWT leaders advancing Arctic Security and Economic Corridor

Northwest Territories leaders, including Deputy Premier Caroline Wawzonek and YKDFN Chief Ernest Betsina spoke in today about the importance of advancing the Arctic Security and Economic Corridor, from Yellowknife to WKR's Port of Grays Bay.


Sarah St-Pierre reports for CBC that the Government of Northwest Territories is working in partnership with the Yellowknives Dene First Nation and Tłı̨chǫ government to figure out the routing of the road that will connect Yellowknife to the Grays Bay port in Nunavut. The next step will be the environmental assessment process, Wawzonek said.


"We need to start work on this sooner than later," said Yellowknives Dene Dettah Chief Ernest Betsina.
